More than just revision
I don’t believe that successful examination preparation is simply about learning more facts.
Students need to understand how to use what they know.
That means learning how to recognise the demands of different questions, select appropriate evidence, construct a convincing argument and explain ideas clearly.
Where appropriate, I work directly with students on their own written answers. We look carefully at what they have done well, identify where marks may be being lost and work through how the answer could be improved.
The aim is not simply to improve one essay.
It is to help students develop skills they can use independently in future examinations.
A little about me
I have more than 16 years of experience in education and have taught students with a wide range of abilities and learning needs.
I am also an experienced examiner and examination team leader.
My academic background includes History, Archaeology, Classical Studies and Education, and I have a particular interest in helping students develop the skills needed to communicate their historical understanding effectively.
I genuinely love History — and I aim to share this enthusiasm through my teaching.
